Makeup Setting Spray

Do you find that your makeup tends to smear or wear off too quickly, especially in humid weather?

Well, here is a DIY makeup setting spray that just may do the trick while providing hydration for the skin. It can become a vital part of your natural skin care routine.

INGREDIENTS:

1 tbsp Aloe Vera Gel
1 tbsp Witch Hazel (alcohol-free)
5 drops of Lavender Essential Oil
2½ tbsp purified water


DIRECTIONS: 

1. In a small bowl or jar add the Aloe Vera Gel.
2. Add the witch hazel and stir.
3. Add the Lavender Essential Oil.
4. Add the purified water to the mixture and blend well.  Since we are not adding preservatives in an effort to have as few chemicals as possible in our bodies, it’s important to use purified water so that there is no bacteria buildup.
5. Using a funnel, gently pour the mixture into your spray bottle.

You can even store it in the fridge to help reduce buildup and provide a refreshing mist when ready to use. 

To use:  Shake well, then simply mist the face with one or two pumps just after applying your makeup. Allow it air dry. This makeup setting spray will give you a day of flawless skin and may give you amazing anti-aging benefits along the way! Not wearing makeup? You can still use the spray as a refreshing tonic for the skin or as a midday refresher.

Aloe Vera Gel has so many uses and has long been known to remedy many skin conditions, and is probably most famous for the sunburn relief it provides. Aloe Vera can provide skin conditioning benefits, reducing inflammation and keeping those pimples at bay due to the acne-fighting antioxidants it contains. 

Witch Hazel is a natural astringent. It helps to remove toxins, ultimately killing bacteria that may be hiding within the skin. It may even prevent skin cancer and provide anti-aging benefits while minimizing pimples for acne-prone skin. 

Lavender Essential Oil is commonly known for reducing anxiety, emotional stress and improving sleep, but it’s also a perfect ingredient for my DIY makeup setting spray because it help restore the complexion and the skin while helping prevent acne. That’s not all. It, too, contains powerful antioxidants that may help slow the aging process as well as improve eczema and psoriasis symptoms.
